Bar amorina
cherry creek, co
A complete transformation of an existing space, Amorina was designed to feel entirely new—timeless yet transportive. Warm, textural materials, sculptural forms, and a sun-washed palette come together to create an elevated dining experience rooted in the elegance of coastal Italy.
An immersive study in light, texture, and restraint—evoking the sun-drenched romance of the Italian coast.
Located in the heart of Cherry Creek, Bar Amorina is a complete transformation of a former concept—reimagined to feel like an entirely new destination. The goal from the start was clear: create an elevated, transportive experience that channels the romance, vibrancy, and effortless elegance of coastal Italy.
Commissioned by Culinary Creative, Amorina was inspired by founder Max Mackissock’s enduring love for Italy—its food, its fashion, and its soulful way of life. Maximalist was brought in to bring that vision to life, with Abigail Plantier’s recent travels through Italy helping to shape the emotional tone and translate the essence of the Mediterranean into a spatial experience.
The result is a sunlit, soulful environment that feels intimate yet expansive. Walls finished in warm, creamy plaster reflect the natural light pouring in, creating a soft, inviting glow. A palette of ivory, blush, and terra cotta echoes the earth and architecture of coastal towns, while arched openings and sculptural forms give the space a sense of place and poetry. At the center of it all, a monolithic travertine bar becomes the gathering heart—detailed with brushed brass that adds quiet glamour and a sense of refinement.
Lush greenery is thoughtfully layered throughout, softening the edges and evoking the slow, organic rhythm of Mediterranean living. Every material was chosen for its texture and soul, and every detail was considered to bring guests into a different state of mind—where time slows, conversations linger, and beauty reveals itself in layers.
With Amorina, we didn’t just redesign a restaurant—we created an escape. A space full of warmth, elegance, and a little love.
