A COMPLETE REIMAGINING OF A HISTORIC 1959 MOTOR INN, THE ALL INN TRANSFORMS A PIECE OF DENVER’S EAST COLFAX HISTORY INTO A LAYERED, DESIGN-DRIVEN BOUTIQUE HOTEL. MID-CENTURY INFLUENCES, RICH MATERIALS, BOLD COLOR, AND COLLECTED DETAILS COME TOGETHER TO CREATE A DISTINCTLY MODERN HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE ROOTED IN THE CHARACTER OF ITS PLACE.

A 1960s roadside motel, reimagined for a new era of hospitality.

The All Inn Hotel is the transformation of a historic Denver motor inn into a layered, design-driven boutique hotel rooted in the character of East Colfax. Maximalist led the interior design, branding, and hospitality experience, creating a cohesive identity that carries from the guest rooms to the lobby, bar, and shared social spaces. The result balances the building’s mid-century origins with a richer, more contemporary point of view: nostalgic without feeling themed, expressive without losing its sense of place.

Originally built in 1959, the former Fountain Inn offered a compelling foundation for reinvention. Rather than erase its past, the design draws from the optimism and material honesty of mid-century roadside hospitality while introducing unexpected layers of color, texture, art, and atmosphere. Original architectural character is paired with warm walnut, stone, leather, terrazzo, cork wallcoverings, sculptural forms, and a palette of oxblood, umber, ochre, charcoal, and muted blue.

At the heart of the hotel is All Is Well, the lobby lounge and bar conceived as the social living room of the property. A generous conversation pit anchors the space, surrounded by intimate seating, collected furnishings, and layered lighting that allow the lobby to shift naturally throughout the day. More than a place to check in, it was designed as somewhere guests and locals could settle in, meet, have a drink, and stay awhile.

Throughout the hotel, the guest experience is considered as a connected journey rather than a series of individual rooms. Each guestroom floor takes on its own color identity, while recurring materials, typography, artwork, signage, and details create continuity across the property. Guest rooms reinterpret the straightforward functionality of the original motor inn through a more tactile and residential lens, balancing clean silhouettes with warmth, comfort, and character.

The All Inn is ultimately an exercise in adaptive reuse and reinvention: preserving the spirit of a recognizable piece of Colfax history while giving it an entirely new life. Interior design, brand, and experience work together to create a hotel that feels established rather than newly manufactured: distinctly Denver, distinctly Colfax, and unmistakably All Inn.
